John Paul Pet!

Paul Mitchell is the first hair care company to publicly oppose animal testing in the beauty industry, and follow animal friendly JPPetsproductspolices at all times.

Paul Mitchell CEO and cofounder John Paul Dejoria made the decision to halt the sale of products in China after being informed the company would have to incorporate animal testing in order to continue selling products there.  Rather than being part of a market where animal testing is required, John Paul put sales in China on hold last year and has now told PETA’s US affiliate that Paul Mitchell will not sell products in that country in order to remain committed to the company’s cruelty-free policy.

“Since Paul Mitchell was founded in 1980, we have been cruelty-free. We do not conduct or condone animal testing on our products, and we will not attempt to market our products in China until alternatives to animal testing methods have been accepted by the government. We are honored and encouraged to be working with China to bring about positive change. Paul Mitchell always has been and always will be cruelty-free!” –John Paul Dejoria

In 2005 John Paul launched John Paul Pet, grooming and hygiene product for your pet. The line includes shampoos, conditioners, and wipes. These products are pH balanced to take care of a pet’s sensitive skin. From puppies to kittens to horses, this product line has your pet covered!  All products are “tested on humans first,” so you know it will be safe for your furry friend!

John Paul Pet supports all sorts of wonderful organizations; Best Friends Animal Society, The Morris Animal Foundation, PAWS, The California Wildlife Association, The Humane Society of the United States, as well as numerous Humane Society of America and SPCA events, pet rescue organizations and pet charities nationwide. Also, partnering with Paul Mitchell Schools across the US, we have John Paul Pet Club. A group of wonderful Future Professionals with one simple goal, “to promote the benefits of proper care and hygiene for pets while increasing awareness of animal-related issues and to volunteer within the community to support animal-friendly causes through education, outreach and love.”
