Paul Mitchell is the first hair care company to publicly oppose animal testing in the beauty industry, and follow animal friendly JPPetsproductspolices at all times.

Paul Mitchell CEO and cofounder John Paul Dejoria made the decision to halt the sale of products in China after being informed the company would have to incorporate animal testing in order to continue selling products there.  Rather than being part of a market where animal testing is required, John Paul put sales in China on hold last year and has now told PETA’s US affiliate that Paul Mitchell will not sell products in that country in order to remain committed to the company’s cruelty-free policy.

We do not conduct or condone animal testing on our products, and we will not attempt to market our products in China until alternatives to animal testing methods have been accepted by the government. In 2005 John Paul launched John Paul Pet, grooming and hygiene product for your pet. The line includes shampoos, conditioners, and wipes. These products are pH balanced to take care of a pet’s sensitive skin.
